hand guns

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a Glock 26 (w/magazine grip extension) and it is the first and only handgun I've ever owned so I can't really compare to other brands. When shopping for one I was impressed with the ease of field stripping them but concerned about the lack of a manual safety.

The fact of the matter with glocks is that they won't go off unless the trigger is pulled...the safety mechanism turns off and on with each trigger pull.....its 3 stages I believe, one being the trigger safety, then the firing pin, then the drop safety. They explain it on the Glock website.

I can understand the safety issue with them though being in a house with kids...the 3 stages aren't much good when a kid is fully capable of pulling the trigger....but as far as it going off in my waistband, there's just no way....

Dont listen to this guy!

NEVER use birdshot for home defense. Bird shot will do nothing but piss a crack head off. 00 buckshot is more ideal.

Anyone that says the word clip when refereing to a magazine is never a reliable source either. Though shooting different ammo through the same Sig is not nearly as easy as he makes it sound, sigs are great guns too!

Listen to who you want... although I apologize I'm not an expert in crackhead execution.

Like I said before... rack one round in the 12 gauge, and if they are still in the house, carry the .45 with a CLIP full of rounds.

Lets get REALLY picky about CLIP vs. MAGAZINE too because that matters so very much.

Next week it will be "never trust anyone who calls H20 replacement water changes."

Good luck with all the crackheads and whatever you choose!

I wont argue with you but here is what I have learned from what very little training (wouldnt even consider training) Ive had. NEVER let a perp know you have a gun by racking the slide or anything like that. If you do it gives a hell bent perp the opportunity to ready his weapon if he has one. The element of surprise is your best weapon.

In my house the first indication an intruder will have that Im home is the flash from the barrel of my closest weapon. Castle doctorine at its finest.

This is a very hard topic...maaaannnn a very hard topic. By letting the thief, crackhead, perp, enemy, crook or whoever know you are armed (SotGun Rack) you may scare him off, this is good if you scare him off right?
However what if he/she is armed and what if he/she is actually after YOU and and not your money - now you have given away your position.

Like I said both theories could be true theoretically. There are too many what if's for all sorts of situations, tooooo many to discuss. Only you know your situation.

The important thing is to not panic, think clearly, and react in a timely manner by making a decision and sticking with your decision...

Im no expert on crack heads but Im thinking that if a crackies got a gun, hes gonna sell it for crack money. If hes in your house he probably ran out of crack and guns. These kinds of gun debates are pretty much just academic because one shot, hit or miss, from any kind of fire arm is probably going to end any sort of home intruder situation. To think that we are going to be engaged in fire fights in our homes, complete with hammer drills and magazine changes is pure gun owner fantasy. And anyways, you only think you want to kill them.

I agree, unless you've really pissed off the local mafia, most people breaking into you're house are not there to kill you. Cambering a round lets them know you're not going down without a fight.

if you want to be safe in your house...put a fire extinushier in your bed room.......reality check........much more likely to have a fire than a fire fight.

larger caliber owns smaller caliber
rifles own hand guns
and shotguns are a great tool ( with a deer barrel with iron sights)
