I learned to properly inspect a used tank before buying it. I being an idiot bought a tank that the woman said her husband re-sealed.... Well he did reseal it... the tank measured 48" x 24" x 30" 150ish gallons... the bottom looked great where he re-sealed it. But something was different... instead of it being one solid pane on the bottom it was two panes that met at the middle support. I figure it was nothing and that it was some sort of older design. While scrubbing the tank clean of the 3 year old dried up green stuff on the bottom I slipped and put my hand through one of the bottom panes... it was only 3/8inch thick. So now I have stitches and I wasted 275 $ on a tank some one jurry rigged together.

Wow! That's crazy! I can't believe anyone would try to pass this off to anyone else, let alone sell it.

Hope you're OK...

I lucked out and only need a total of two stitches. My insurance covered the damage. Need less to say I took a sledge hammer to the the tank and gathered the shards of glass up to give the tank back to the seller when the time is right.

OUCH!! At least you didn't start filling it with water right away, that could have been pretty bad...
