has any1 handfed their bluegill?? if so any technicques woujld be nice. mine is about 5". he loves lively food. like nightcrawlers and meal worms.

I hand feed my biggest bluegill sometimes. It's best to do this trick, when the fish is the hungriest. Hang the worm just above the water, let the fish see it and slowly put your fingers and worm in the water. The fish may flee or do nothing.

Give the fish a piece of the worm and continue to do your training a few times. Do this twice daily or once a day. Eventually, it will catch on. Make sure your hands are very clean.

ok well i have been hanging the worm in the water with my fingers not in at all. but now i am starting to go down further. but he just flees. so what i am gunna try is what u said and give him a little bit. any other tips will help and thank you alot. also how is your bluegill doin?? what fish u have him in with?

Try some live ones from the petstore. A nightcrawler is a very large worm, so one might make it full. My fish crew eats wax worms, mealworms, pink and red wrigglers and super soft pellets by H.B.H.. If you have a yard, catch some bugs to toss in.
haha dude i did that tonight. i found some beatles attached to my screen and got them. 2 little beatles went right away! i guess he was a little shy after the tank cleaning because i re arranged it ALOT. so i might try some new foods like u said crickets. does the pet store sell any other live bugs you know of? he did eat some small worms too! but my fingertip was barely in the water. he is soo scared of my hand!
