handfeeding bluegill

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Your bullhead is awesome! I love the pattern on it.. mine didn't have any pattern at all. Anyways, if I tried to hand feed my bluegill it would just swim away, and besides even if he didn't my goldfish would get to the food first... :S

Not a dude, ladies like fish too. Anytime you are going to rearrange a tank, take the fish out first and put it in a bucket with tank water and aeration. Moving things around the fish really stresses it. When you have finished moving things and are done with the tank, put your fish back in.

Your selection of foods depends on the pet store. Most will carry crickets, meal worms and super worms(huge worm and too big for your fish). If you have a local bait store buy from them. I buy most of my worms and wax worms from my bait store. Don't buy worms that have been dyed, like the neon green looking worms. You have the best selection of insects in your yard.

Hey Kitty, thanks my catfish is the STAR in this tank. It will take time to train your fish to hand feed. I really tested my fish to see if they were bold enough to eat from my hand. The first fish to try it were my warmouths. Then the largest bluegill thought it's safe enough and kept eating from my hand.

Ah alright thanks Rays, I really don't have any desire to hand feed him though anyways. I get a kick out of the goldfish doing it lol.. all I really want is for the bluegill to come out when people are around but I don't think that will happen
