Handicapped fish.

I've got a zaire bichir with only 1 eye. I've got a koi with a 90 degree bent up tail. I've got koi with deformed mouths as well, from being kept poorly, or were born that way. I also have a calvus with a crooked Jaw.

With koi, you look at them from the top, so I'm not concerned with the deformities. And as long as they are happy and healthy, I don't see anything wrong with keeping any deformed fish.

I have a large grey guppy with a bent on the back. The sex is not 100% sure as she has a penis but she is fat as hell

My wife and I acquired one P. Demasoni from our LFS for next to nothing. The guy took of $10 just to get it out of the small tank it was being picked on in. My wife fell in love with the little guy and wanted to nurse him back to health. He had no tail and was without much for other fins as well. He needed a home or he was going to die (he was being kept with some much larger cichlids can't remember what).

He lasted a whole month in our tank. He seemed to be doing better and was eating and then one morning we woke up and he had passed on. My wife was horrified, we checked tank conditions a number of times that day but we couldn't explain his death. That was about 2 weeks ago, we watched for other things in the other fish but nothing showed up. He hadn't recently been bullied or damaged. It was sad, I was really pulling for the little guy.

I forgot we once had a snowflake eel with a perfectly functioning tiny eye. it was so funny. we named it squinty i think. one eye was this big O and the normal one was ( ) lol
