I keep seeing pictures of people literally grabbing their fish from aquarium, usually it is done just for pictures. How safe is that? Any actual damage to the fish?
 
Better to do it that way than scruffing them up with a net. Wet hands are softer. The problem is that nets were invented because it's too hard to catch 'em with your hands!
 
sometimes its more fun with your hands especially with catfish "ouch"
 
As long as your hands are wet as stated above its actually less damaging to the fish and its slime coat.The only problem is hanging on to it -Anne

Depends on the fish in question. Usually a better idea to use hands or other means with "spiny" fish than a net. I learned that lesson the hard way with a synodontis catfish long ago!
 
I often take the fish out of the bags with my hands.... I'm always surprized how calm they are.
 
This is a lawsuite waiting to happen. If it has spines think again. puffers and lionfish are on the no no list.
