I am so very sorry that I hurt your feelings mate. But trust me, your feelings hurt a lot less than a bite from a Scolopendra spp. would.
I think it should be considered a universal right that people can choose to take risks if they want to. We are, after all, facing quite a doozy of an overpopulation problem.
By the way, PLEASE STOP taking the death of Steve Irwin to mark the failure of his methods, or his training and experience. There is a reason his downfall came in the ocean. Steve Irwin was very quick and agile on land; in the water, he was quite literally out of his element. You can't dodge underwater, you can't leap out of the way... and the dynamics of danger, the threats in a coral reef, are much different.

I'm a big Scolopendra/ archno geek and i wouldn't even take chance holding a Viet barehands but I'm not going to lie . There is just a obssesion with playing around with venomous .There is just passion about testing your skill. I'm not for or against this but i do acknowledge this thread and understand both sides. as for the python band i agree you still know people now with burms/condas/rocks but wait 10yrs from now. As much as i love the trade i feel like it is in peril
Please stop, and do us all a favor. Some of us like to stand up for our beliefs and would rather not have be restricted in what we can and cannot do in animal ownership. Yes, let’s all become part of the statistic that makes this a police nation.
It definitely is bro, unfortunately the government is making broad sweeping laws with little to no investigation into the animals they ban. I'm afraid that in the near future we'll see a great decline in the animals available to hobbyists, due to laws. As it is too many pythons are being banned unnecessarily as some don't pose a threat to human life or local wildlife. They're being banned because they're just being grouped together with no thought, other than they're large constrictors. The government would rather pass broad sweeping laws than waste time and money in what they consider a unimportant matter. A fact that they should be held accountable for and we should take a stand by signing off on any petition against the passing of such laws. We have to play a more active role if we want our hobby to survive.
There will always be those statistics to supposedly provoke the government into passing such laws. As I said I neither support nor will I attack the OP as it's in my opinion his life and his choice. I merely support his right to choose for himself, which is the very definition of freedom. People don't see that by attacking such an action with the excuse that the government will pass a law if something happens, the government has already won and turned our nation into a police nation. We shouldn't be focusing on each other, but the government that's passing these laws.

, I'm pretty sure widow, recluse, and bark scorpion bites/sting are little pricks. Also the deadly species I am handling can't kill me, but can hurt me.Again even though an animal species is banned in a certain state you honestly think it will stop everyone? ruckaisawesome has one even if it is illegal. I don't know the laws in FL but here in Colorado pet stores are allowed to sell ANY exotic pets including the illegal ones. You think it is difficult hiding a little illegal centipede?
