i am planning on get a 125g tank and was just wondering wat kind of filter should i get? 2 emperor 400s or a exterior canister filter?

the canisters seem to cost more than the emperor 400s, wat would yall rather get?

I would get a canister over a hang on anyday. Also I like aquaclears better than emperors and I own both.

I would get 2 AC110s
I dont like canisters (personal preference...flame me) and I like AC filters better than wimperor...i mean emperor.

i would say do a wet/dry but if u cant do that than go with the canister i have 2 emperror 400s on my 125gallon tank and the waters fine but i would prefer to use a fluval 500 or something

I would also get two aquaclear 500s they would be almost if not just as powerful as the canisters and they cost alomost the same

 The Aqua Clear110's have great gph and quiet. If you go to http://www.bigalsonline.com
I found them on there and its cheaper than anywhere else. Every pet store I ever been to sells them for $90-$100 (BS!) Definately check out bigals I think the price they have is like $40-$48 and you get it in 24 hours! Good luck!

I change my mind do 2 aqua clear 110s the emperror 400s arent as powerful inmo than the outher filters

Canisters tend to cost more than HOB's.
Emperor and AC's are both great filters, you wouldn't be wasting money either way you choose. AC's have perminant media, but emps have emersed bio media (more air=more bacteria.)

I recommend a Rena or Eheim classic if you go the canister route.

If money is an issue, HOB's will do as well if not better than a canister (plus HOB's are ususaly easier to clean), but a wet/dry is the way to go!
