hang up or canister filter?

i got an emporer 400 and the ac110 on a 125 and i like the 110 better it moves more water and its queiter and i can see the inside of the filter that 400 is a black bastared i cant see the bio wheel move .
GET A CANISTER!! It will be worth your money in the long run. I have a Eheim pro. wet/dry that I have had for over 10 years on my 75 gallon and it works great!! Plus I never have to replace the eheim media so it is a very cheap filter to run!
use as much filtration of as many differant types as you can afford. The only limit should be your budget and keeping the current in your tank below warp 6 . Diversity in filtration ensures that you can do maintenance without upsetting microbe poulations and water quality. I use sponges, cans, and hang on backs all at the same time.
Spare filters are also good for setting up other tanks or helping out with filtration in a tanl that has lost its bugs due to medications etc.
