You just confirmed my ID of your fish. You think they are S. fryeri, not S. ahli, since S. fryeri are those pictured for the species profile as a Likoma Island variant.
Sciaenochromis ahli is not "electric blue" and is not by any means commonly found in the hobby as thay are seldom imported.

The name "ahli" is often applied to S. fryeri as a common name but they are most certainly not S. ahli.

You are right, my bad. I'm still not 100% though. I bought them as ahli's off aquabid.

The person probably bought them as ahli common name and did not know any better and sold them as common name ahli.

I don't mean to hijack the thread (not really because I was the OP), but as to my picture that I put in the first post, is there any kind of consensus as to what it might be?
