Hap in trouble!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't know nothing about any disease but i have no idea what the problem is. I just know the fins are messed up, the color, and how shes acting just sitting on the bottom breathing heavy.

I would say the fish could very possibly have some sort of bacterial infection. Feeders are not a good way to keep them healthy. They are prone to carrying diseases and bacteria.

I know this was the last time i was gettting them for awhile. My luck this was the time disease came. I give them feeders like once a month and never had problems. I know they aren't the best thing though

Haps like to wedge themselves in between stuff, I lost an Electric Blue because he was so tired on trying to get out. Not uncommon for haps to do that.

Move the fish to a 10 gallon quarantine tank at 82* with salt. Start with metro.

From the pictures, the disease looks pretty far along and chances of survival may not be all that high.

The picture of the fish's head makes it look like some sort of mbuna hybrid (not sure if it's the camera angle or what). These guys should not be eating feeders.

Agreed with the above, bloat at a very advanced stage. The swollen belly comes in the later stages. The fin damage looks like an attack. What made you decide to keep this fish with a red devil out of curiosity? The feeders also could not have helped the situation. Remove and quarantine immediatley and begin a bloat treatment. And please no more feeders, and please don't put it back with the red devil. Good luck!

Yeah, don't do feeders, bad idea. If you want to watch them hunt get ghost shrimp, they're a little more expensive than feeder guppies but just as entertaining. They're probably more nutritious for them too.
