Hap. Ruby Greens have malawi bloat

Mike's given is one way, also if you don't mind staining your tank use the clout method. (It has always worked for me, Metronidazole didn't.)

ALSO DON'T FEED while treating. Even if they look hungry, just don't. It will save your fish. (Remember they can go for easily over a month without eating when holding their young.)

If you want to use clout (easy to get.) Put them in a 10 and treat as follows:

Thanks guys for the response. Unfortunately I have no other available tanks left to treat my sick fish. I'll have to treat my main tank. And yes, I will not feed my fish, good advice. I'll be using the clout method and how bad does it stain the tank? Bad enough so that you will want to get rid of the tank or what?

Your silicon will be blue hued, it gets better over time. Take all rocks out, everything just gets blue... Even you hand if you hold the pills for too long. (Note clout is like a nuke for meds, it gets the job done but it is something that you hopefully don't have to resort too. From the sounds of things I would just use it.) Also get yourself a cheap 10 gallon (craigslist is your friend.). You never know when you will need it. (Medication, fry, whatever.) Just set it up somewhere semi hidden and forget about it till you need it again. (Well maybe top off the water every once in a while.)

Well instead, I got jungle labs parasite clear. Will that work? How do I treat it with junlge labs parasite clear?

For bloat where fish are no longer eating, jungle labs parasite clear wont work. (well as reliably.)

I used to use all that stuff with limited success and then I got turned onto melafix and pimafix. I use them for what they are meant for and then when I have something real nasty looking that I haven't encountered I use them together and I haven't lost a fish to disease in a very long time. I also use epsom salt in my regular mixture in my malawi setup. I use epson salt, malawi buffer and cichlid salt. Works great and pH stays around 8.4 and I have never had bloat before.

Thanks guys for response. Jungle Parasite clear seems like it's working. I'll do a water change in a bit and add some aquarium salt. Is 84 degrees okay?

i keep epsom salt on hand incase i ever need it. I would suggest using the epsom salt instead of the regular salt, then you can always go back to regular after they are well. Dont forget salts do not evaporate, they will need to be removed by water changes and will build up if you dont.
