How fast do each of them breed? i beleive i got 1 male hap and 1 male ob peacock in my 60 gallon along with a albino and 1 baby mbuna that was a rescue u guys might of seen my other threads

anywyas if i were to get 2 female haps and 2 female OBs in my 60 gallon would they make fry pretty quick or no?

Fish are healty and pretty nice in color
I do about 70% water changes every 1 1/2 weeks
they eat micro wafers that they go crazy for..

uhmm and plenty of hiding places nad open water..

so what you think? if they do breed quick then ill wait tell i move with my 120gallon

thanks in advanced..

Like ikevi said peacocks breed early and breed often. Haps are quick to reach maturity also but are a little slower. In my experience with peacocks/haps, if the fish has color and has a partner it's going to be a short time before you see brooding females.

what are micro wafers.. just curious since i never heard of these..

I had a artificial tank set up meaning fake rock etc. I had that set up for about a year and no breeding, I actually thought I had all males for the longest time. I then changed the tank over to a sanding bottom with a lot of rock caves and some driftwood and now I can't get them to stop breeding.

Be new to breeding fish I began removing holding females and putting them into my 29 gallon again rocks, caves, and sand. Now I have 10 mbuna, peacock hybrids and I just had 7 baby yellow labs and now by Fryeri is holding. These should be electric blues. Perhaps I'll post some pics of all I have going on tonight.

Before my tangent, I was trying to say that until I used a completely natural environment I never had breeding fish.

I also do a 15% water change every other day. For my situation that is much easier to do and less stengous.

i do like 70 % WC every 1 1/2 weeks and the water i take out isnt that dirty lol but anywyas i got a female peacock today and took my white lil monster back and i notice my other peacock might be a female so im gonna call my good friend at my lfs tomorrow and see if he got a good looking stud ob peacock and then ill get a female hap for my hap and then they should start breeding if they are happy..lol

but im not gonna take them out the tank or anything im gonna let nature take its course..

So you say now. Though I would wait on getting a female hap until you know what type of male you for sure have. IE I think red empress, but you never know for sure until they get there full color... Also know that if you only have 2 males and 2-3 females, only 1 male will breed with them, and the other one will be beaten on. Even if they are haps and peacocks.

haps im asking about the breeding now but i will not get a female for him tell later on after i get my 120 i might get more females but when i got my female OB today for my male ob that was getting picked on by the albino i had but when i got home from my LFS today, i notice 2 lil white/yellowish spots on my so called "male" OB which might be egg spots right?

well my female i got today has plenty and the owner of the lfs said its a female so now im thinking and pretty sure i got 2 female OBs and 1 male Hap and 1 mbuna thats small lil baby ...

anywyas the 2 will not interbreed right the obs and the hap???

and you think i should get a guranteed OB male tomorrow?
