I'd say some rocks or more driftwood. I like what you did with the leafs great idea. Kewl work! Some nice oval or round looking rocks from the rivers and streams would be Kewl.

I agree with the others: rocks. Make them noticeably different in sizes, rather than all close to the same size

If you live near a gravel pit wait until the spring after the cold winter and look for rocks like this
