Hard water spots/stains removal impossible?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a tank I removed all or most of the deposits from. I still have chemical stains and what may be erosion showing. I can't seem to do anything about it. Is this maybe what you ran into? I love bar keeper's friend. It's cleaned so many tanks for me until this one. This one admittedly appears to be stained differently.

your best friend when it comes to cleaning tanks. ive cleaned tanks with hard water
stains thats been sitting outside getting rained on and etc and made it looks like new.
wet, apply, let it sit for a bit and scrub/scrape with razor.

I tried this. It sucked. It did nothing. Waste of money. (Small money atleast)

On tanks in the past, I've used CLR and it took any hard water stains right off. Of course, you have to be sure you rinse is extremely well afterwards.

White vinegar (5%, no additives) is safe to use. Just lower the tank water level, then use a sponge or soft cloth. It will affect pH, so don't use too much, but people use vinegar for dosing or cleaning from time to time.
