hard water stain- impossible to get rid of

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If it's calcium based stain on glass.
1 part HCL (hydrochloric acid) to 10 parts water. Apply in a sprayer bottle on the stain. Let it sit for 30 secs and then wipe off with a wet cloth. You can also scrub with a nylon bristle brush to agitate it if it is really caked on.

You sure it's mineral deposit? Try PH down on it. If that doesn't get rid of it...it's the devil.

LMAO! "Bobby, dem girls are the debil..!!!"

OP, someone recommended I mix baking soda in with the vinegar into a paste. That provides some abrassive quality and helps cut through the stains. It worked OK for me. If that don't work, knifegill's right, it's the devil....

One of my all-time fav. Kathy Bates lines, LOL. That and "I'm your biggest fan.". Ahhhhh Good times.

Are you sure the acetone you used wasn't watered down? If you used nail polish remover, some contain an acetone alternative.

If it a glass tank use a razor blade it has worked for me in the past
If it's an acrylic tank he never would have considered acetone.

I am no scientist but it didn't explode when I tried it. I was making very small amounts though. Is that dangerous? I would feel terrible recommending something to someone if it was dangerous.
