He seems fine as far as activity and apatite. I've never handled him by hand to know soft/hardness of the fins but I don't see them really bend when he moves. They eat the same mix as my others do, hikari sinking carnivore pellets, shrimp pellets, grocery store shrimp, beef heart, blood worm. I cycle through the foods to keep it varied. Although he prefers the pellets to real food... crazy little guy.
They all get enough food to eat, I hand feed them since I have to break the pellets into 1/4's for them to be small enough for that tank to eat. I watch him get his fill as well as the others.
