I have to follow that up with a disclaimer, some think that the colors of the fish are affected by the ph and hardness of the water, I have not seen any difference in any of my pikes, but, it's a valid theory and I wouldn't say they are wrong with out testing the theory myself! It may just be because the fish may be more willing to spawn in softer/lower ph water - color will intensify in breeding dress certainly!
