So today I was filling something up and I forgot about it, anyways it overflowed onto my hardwood floors and I discovered it 2 hours later when I went out and came back. I quickly cleaned up the mess but now the hardwood floor has cupped in a 4 hour time period, what can I do to fix it? I'm really worried the hardwood is going to warp and crack.

We have warped our hardwood before. It will flatten out as it dries, which can take months. How bad it gaps as it dries will depend on how wet it got and what kind of flooring it is.

happened to me once. wood buckled pretty bad but it eventually settled back in place perfectly. took about a month or so

No, just time. Be patient, it will get better. Sanding, filling, and resealing is a big undertaking, so let it dry for a few months and see how it turns out.

Hello; My experience with a wet hardwood floor had another issue. The floor was not buckled over time, but developed discolored spots. I think this was more due to long term dampness from small spills under sections of an area rug. I think dampness was trapped. If there are rugs or other coverings it may help to remove such and have a bare floor.

I have a different problem with my floor. In some spots the wood seems to swell up a little and come to a point.I had no idea what the cause was until someone told me it was from moisture...These spots are on the main floor if the house and all of my tanks are in the basement underneath so I'm guessing that they must be causing the moisture.
