Not to sure .... I got mine with loaches, geos, and dat. Mine eats carnivore and massivore pellets
Hides when the light is on. If it's dark it's out and about
From my tiny experience, there is a good chance they will co-exist peacefully. Of course most our communities are a gamble.
Mine appeared timid fish but were ok in a bare but dim tank (only 2% of natural outdoor light). I saw them all the time. They fed fine, grew well, mostly keeping to their corner or near the drain screen.
When I started putting in furniture, they started utilizing it, then I saw them mostly at feedings.

Nice pick up. Think I have had mine for at least 4 years. They get even better looking with time.
What kind of growth have you been observing?
What size did you get them and what size are they now?
