Range: Australia.
General Notes : The Lienardella fasciata or Harlequin Tusk wrasse is actually a very peaceful fish in spite of it's viscious appearance. Is not considered reef safe as it will eat any shrimp, crab or snail it can find. Typically shy and hide a lot as a juvenile, may become bolder with age. Harlequin tusk should be only one per tank. Best kept in fish only systems with boisterous wrasses, surgeonfishes, large angelfishes, puffers and triggers. May need to feed live saltwater feeders until wrasse learns to eat frozen and prepared foods. Australian specimens tend to be more colorful and hardier (more blue coloration it noted).

Chances are...yes. Depends on individual wrasse.

Trust me. I have one. He probably would. Harleys typically run the show in there tanks. I know mine does. Not insanely agreesive but if they feel like it. . .CHIOMP. My tuskfish has a deep disdain (or affinity) for hermit crabs. When I first got him he ate 17 huge daradanus hermits in 2 days. Blue legs last a while but every so often he will pick one up and crush its shell. kachow.
Anything moving on the bottom immediately draws attention and a sample CHOMP. bad news for rays.

Tusks are awesome fish though. Wouldn't trade him for anything.
Including a ray. Owning a tusk has been an awesome experience.
Can't recommend them enough.

Screw a ray. . .get a harley :headbang2:
