The Pro 3 and the Juwel internal filter will be more than enough filtration for the 450, JMO but dont even bother with the UGF. Remind me the pro 3 has 2 uplifts does it not? If i were you id run the pro 3 as the purely mechanical and biological filtration and stuff the internal filter with filter wool to purely polish the water.

im aiming for maximum bio, so i thought i would just put a ugf just as extra,,iwas also thinking of filling a fluval plus 4 with floss

Well just leave the juwel as it is then and the Pro 3 is still more than you'll need. BTW you realize that the BB only colonize the media to levels required to deal with the ammount of waste being produced? What I mean is you could put 4 Pro 3's on that tank but you will only have the same ammount of BB in the media as you would if you had only 1 Pro3. What you planning on stocking??

It's easy to forget the value of surface agitation. Not that running flow through the gravel to keep it clear of debris isn't a good idea but you still need to think of a way to then filter the material suspended in the water column.

Your filters input may prove to be sufficient to keep the water clear but if not satisfactory you could use HOB's or if you are in the UK where HOB's are not sold you could use a couple of power heads with spong filters on their inputs.

The output of the powerheads could agitate the surface of the water and the foams could be frequently washed to provide an export for solids.
