has any one tried northern pike?

No, but I had tiger muskies for awhile, crazy when it comes to eating time, strike viciously. Went on vacation, long story short, neighbor kid killed them, even though I said leave them alone (bc he was over to feed other animals)
 
I would opt for some of the smaller species, like the pickerels.
 
I haven't kept them, just eaten them :D

I've thought about setting up a tank for either them or tiger muskie, but not sure if I want to devote a huge tank to something like that yet since I could do exotics instead.
 
ive kept them alright you can catch them small just when the winter ends, but when its still cold then i go look for small pike, they swim here all over the place
 
i've kept(was mislabe and guy said only 2feet max). they are very easy to care for other then tank size. i had them till they where 13". they are very easy to get on pelets. they perfer 60-65degree water, and don't keep with smaller tank mates they with eat huge things. mine at a 8inch minnow when he was 10.5".
 
I currently have 2 right now, will eat anything smaller than them.

I had mine with a 5" pbass the pike are like 6". pbass got pwned.

I've heard they get to be real ********s as they get larger... CSX had some of decent size before..
