I saw a moon crab at my LFS. I was thinking about putting it in the tank with my S. marginatus. I was thinking the armor might protect him. What do you guys think? Anybody ever kept inverts with p's?

it will most likely get eaten sooner or later.

I kept two blue crays with my p's, one got eaten after the second day, the others still living with them.

As far as inverts my snails have lived the longest with them, dont think they will ever be an issue.

Also when I throw ghost shrimp in they seem to last for a long time, eventually they all seem to disappear though.

I tried neons but he went through 21 in like a 3 day period. I thought it wouldn't be good for him.

It will get eaten for sure. And the crab really cant defend itself against P's. Further, I believe these crabs needs access to air, they can be fully underwater all the time. They are terrestrial crabs.

i have had 2 Halloween crabs and 2 red thai crabs in a tank with 8 sub adult RBP's and my guys never messed with them once....at first it was all business checking them out but they never nipped or went after them....just ignored and occasionally taunted them...i never expected them to co exist to be honest...but i wanted to try it with a close eye..and it did....i never had one problem..

i think it depends on tank size and the number of ps, try it

I keep red claw crab with my rhom, it doesn't bother the crab at all. I think it depends on the size of the p and crab. if it's not expensive I'd say give it a try, just give it lots of hiding places (i.e. caves, etc).
