Has anybody ever kept piranhas with freshwater inverts??

I had my crayfish with my P a year now, and their still co existing. I have 5 adults RBP and the crayfish always try to get their food every feeding time.

I have one crayfish with four RBPs. I'm finding that as long as I keep plenty of food around (feeders), they have an order of preference, and the shelled guy who is constantly trying to grab them is at the bottom of their list.

Just keep your Reds well fed and they should be fine, its when they get hungery they will go.

update: new set up had 8 piranhas and 14 crayfish. only 2 crayfish are left

yeah I tried adding a crayfish to my tank too. He became a snack.

carefull because i used to have 2 black P and they would love to munch down on feeder crawfish, it was there favourite meal

but the exoskeleton of the crab is much harder i would try and get a full adult crab with younger P's

yeah I've fed cray's a couple of times since then.

Man my serra (I think it's a compressus) is the meanest thing I've seen in the water, I think he kills stuff for amusement. I'm a little hesitant to put a crab in there with him.
