Has Anybody Installed Windows 10 ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I haven't decided if I'm going to update my Win 7 to Win 10(I'm very happy with Win 7)...for sure I'm going to wait several months for the bugs to get worked out.

Since I still play 10+ year old PC games, each time a new Windows comes out I lose the ability to play more and more games.

My wife is planning on getting a new computer soon... which of course will be a Win 10. I will play around with that(some more...as I briefly messed with a Win 10 at the store) to decide on the future of my computer.

Hello; A friend came over who knows computers much better than I. He has not used windows 10 before either and was not having a real easy time as a first go around. He did better than I for sure.
I just noticed a new feature as I typed this post. On the older computer the spelling was not checked for me. This machine highlights a misspelled word in red as I type. I cannot say if this has to do with Windows 10 or not .

We were trying to set up so that my old computer can talk to the new computer. Got close but will need more detailed instruction.

So far other than a completely foreign screen look, I have only noted the automatic spell check working witch did not work on the old machine. This being lost and having to relearn so many things is why I put off getting a new computer for so long. I was getting messages that websites would no longer support the browser on the old machine along with some odd quirks of late. It is said that us old folks need to exercise our brains in new ways, so I am set with that for a while.

My computer(win 7) has spelling check for the internet. I've always believed it was in the browser.

yes i have spelling check with my win 7... so far i am not that impressed...i want to hear all about cool bells and whistles.. lol.. i know your all going to think i am a bit off...... but XP was my favorite program.. i think it had so many things.. that you need to pay extra for now..

XP is still my favorite but it doesn't support a lot of the functionality I need these days, so Win 7 is my close second. Win 10 is definitely #3 for me, with room to grow but we will see. I find it annoyingly geared towards touch screens.

I was not impressed with XP. My work had XP during the XP years and we had lots of problems with it. I bought a laptop(XP 3) the last few months before Vista was released and it locked up on me in the first 2 weeks. I changed it to Vista as quick as I could and I still have it today. The only problem I had with it in the first 5 years was when I tried to update the video driver the screen would go black for over 30 minutes. When I stopped the update...it would be fine.

I rate it Win 7, Vista, 98, Me and then XP. I still have my Me to this day, it is 14 years old.

i quess you got a lemon ... and i got a Gem... and then visa versa... this 7 is okay.. except i did have to take out IE ..so many problems.. and add mozilla firefox.. alot better.. most of the time..

Am wanting to move to windows 10 from 7(Never got 8 as windows does and always has the every second os being bad, so couldn't risk it), but have to wait for some updates as my custom hardwares drivers are not yet suported.
My mate got caught out by this and is having to run his gaming pc with out its graphics card, much to his disgust. :P

Other then that the bit I have used on my mates computer it seems like a very nice os, and has finaly ported over some of my favourite features on my mac.

It does seem every other one is decent going all the way back to Win 98' SE, which is how long I've been working on computers. '98 SE was amazing, ME was so horrid that it almost ran Microsoft out of business. XP was pretty good, but most people forget that before Service Pack 2 it wasn't good at all. Vista is called ME 2 with good reason, and then Win 7 is pretty darn good. Win 8 has been coined ME 3, so hopefully 10 will be at least okay.

My only experience with it so far are the limited demo accounts at work and installing the upgrades for customers.

Hello; I am on the old computer now as the new computer with windows 10 has decided not to connect with the internet. It connected last night, but not today. Not sure what the issue may be. The wireless router is working as I am on this computer with it.

The new computer shows the router connection but has it labeled as limited. I do not know if this is a windows 10 issue as my understanding of this is also limited.
