Has anyone bred Flower rays?

I am thinking about getting a pair, but wondering if anyone has bred them. Please post your experience and frequency of breeding with these rays.

Not sure if anyone here in the US has ever successfully done it. Tigers and flowers mature at a very large size, compared to leo motoro hystrix. I know that it has been done in South America, Asia and Europe.

No one in the US to my knowledge besides maybe a place like the shedd, but no hobbiest. The problem with them is the size that they get to. They are one of the larger rays.

could you please post this documented proof of flowers being bred? cause i have yet to hear of any captive breeding of flower rays...

If they determined the "tigers" to be "flowers" at the end of a very long day, I know of one place in the US that has.

There is a man from signapore that has bred them but the pups(s) ended up dying the next day I believe. They call him uncle tom and he is a member on here. I think he goes by tom32

To my knowledge no one had ever bred flower rays before, Tigers rays yes have been bred in captivity.

Good luck with this project. On the bright side, if they never breed, you will just end up with an awesome looking pair of rays. Be careful though because my experience and others show that the females are a lot more aggressive than the males. My female bit every ray in my tank even after she had eaten.

i have heard among other flower ray keepers that "some guy in wisconsin" has bred flowers. anyone know who this "guy" is and if its true? im growing out a pair now. ill let you all know what happens... lol

I have heard that from some other ray keepers I know. They said he pops up on aquabid from time to time selling leos and flower pups C.O.D. I have never seen him on there but who knows. There are a lot of ray keepers that don't hang out on the internet.
