Has anyone done this with their fish?

Wouldn't you guys think fish exposed to medications be kind of bad for your health? I know practically everything carries the "Contains a chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer" warning, but still kind of scary to me. I'd just use 'em to fertilize the garden or something.

I'm pretty sure most people who do end up eating their own fish took great care not to use chemicals in their tanks...

I'm pretty sure most people who end up eating their own don't have any control over the period before they owned their fish. Whether it's a breeder, collector, importer, exporter, wholesaler, or LFS. The fish we purchase at a pet store are not intended for human consumption. They're ornamental. Besides, saltwater fish taste a lot better. :D

You got a point there (about previous owners), although not sure if SW taste better than FW since i'm not a big fan of seafood...

This thread makes me wish I could start a Scottish Salmon tank and a Gulf Shrimp tank.

You don't want to know which medications they are using for commercial breeding....

Back when I worked at meijers in middletown, oh, one of the other co-workers said he'd read somewhere that a guy bought a big oscar... just to pan fry it. (didn't buy it at our store)
