This sounds like a terrible question, and I wouldn't even think of eating mine. But come on, you have to wonder what it tastes like. People ARE eating them. But then again, some people eat dogs LOL:ROFL: I bought a tank once that the guy had some fish in it. I bought the tank for an arowana and the eleven inch red devil would not make a very nice friend for a young arowana. (though I've seen them together hmmm...) anyway, I new I wouldn't get anything for the red devil (who was an awsome fish btw) I can't deny, I wondered what it would taste like. But, I have this wierd rule about eating my pets. So the fish store gave me $30. in store credit ( what does that work out of their pocket about $15.00) and they sold him for $99.00. Maybe I should have eaten him. before anyone gets mad at me, this is all in good fun. I wouldn't eat my fishys

I ate arowana in Iquique, Chile. It was cooked over a wood firepit on moist banana palm fronds. Wasn't told the spices but, tasted garlic, chive, lime zest, and banana. It was incredible. The flesh was firm, flaky, and moist. It was delicious. Also tried aro in CA. We cooked it over a BBQ with salt/pepper, onion, garlic, shaved pineapple, and a hint of dill weed. It was also excellent. Same cookout as the aro, we also had RB pacu in a salsa/tequila sauce. Thumbs up on the pacu, too.

the only thing ive read was that aro flesh was only moderately good. well maybe it depends on who does the cooking and what spices you use. as of Oddball's testimony, he was obviously eating silvers....... i'm looking at silvers differently now....yummmm...

Ohhhh...u better watch out less them silver lovers start shooting ya hahahaha. :D

I have seen dead silver arros for sale in the markets in Mexico, never tried it though.

I could just imagine the price of that meal..Aros that are to be eaten must be of considerable size just to get enough meat in them for eating..I would guess that they taste just like any white fleshed fish, Aro meat would be lean and less fatty cause they thrive in tropical water...If I were to cook them I'd do it local style with tamarinds and veggies what we pinoys like to call sinigang...

my father and his friends tried to eat the arowana that died coz of jumping.
they said it wasnt that good good because 1.) theres alot of bones and 2.) the flesh is soft.
thats about it. :) i wudnt eat them tho. hell i dont even eat fishes. :P
