I made a few purchase transactions yesterday and in the evening I noticed that one of the twenty dollar bills that I have looks a little fishy.

Yeah I got some 20's once.. 2 of them were longer than any other 20, but just a tad. I used em at a gas station because the bank that gave me them wouldn't take them back.. I told them to check their money better.

I spent them...

wow really? I have had one (lucky) encounter with toy money, also right from a bank... Being I was there and had some business to attend to, later that day when I went back to inform them the situation an change the monies, they checked their files ~ seen that I had been there and that when I left I left with said amount of money, they changed it there an then on the spot.. no questions asked.. in-fact on my way out the manager thanked me, informed me that there was a fair amount in circulation an that if I ever stumble upon anymore to notify both the police and them right away..

Really crappy to read that even the bank wouldn't help you out.. seems that for any country wanting to fight this type of crime they'd be much more then happy to help you out..

Lots of stores here have some type of marking pen for incoming money and recently I've even seen these little scan machines but they don't extend the courtesy to the customer when giving change.

The banks here confiscate the phony money so if you don't pass it on you lose it. The bank took my counterfeit $100 that was passed to me.

Don't listen to a bunch of ill advises! If you use counterfeit money, and you acknowledge that it's counterfeit, it's a felony. Just keep it as a bad memory souvenir

True dat. That's why I lost the $100.
