Has anyone ever fed their fish people food?

I raised an oscar that ate deli ham on occasion......of course, he later died of hole in the head disease. so try it at your own risk i guess.

Some fish probably handle different foods better than others. I don't feed stuff like hotdogs as I'm not so sure I want all that fat, spices, and mystery stuff they put in them not digesting well and squirting into the water. I prefer not to do anymore water changes than I have to.

Used to feed my friends Oscars hotdogs, and reeses peanut butter cups. The Jack Dempsey I have now gets sweet peas, ground beef, turkey, ham, and believe it or not cheese. Basically any thing I've thrown in there he has eaten, keep in mind it's always small amounts and not very often. It could be entirely unrelated, but his colors and mood brighten up substantially when he gets these treats.

lunch meat, shrimp, cheese. I've heard of everything though. I had a fella come into petsmart when I worked there in college that was feeding lasagna to his fish. He couldn't understand why his tank was so filthy.
By the way, you know most of the fish in your sig are not natives, right? Don't know if it matters to you, some native fishkeepers dont like to mix invasives with natives.

my uncle gave his fish tofu.

Kois and oscars. They are in an outdoor pond- deeper then 6 feet maybe around 10k gallons.

Supposedly my brother saw a 3-4 foot koi in it, and there was a huge oscar that would bit your hands if you lean in to close.

they also eat any leaf that would fall in the pond

WHEN I STARTED OUT AND WAS POOR I FED MY FISH COOKED HAM... NEEDLESS TO SAY THE NEXT MORNING HAD A COUPLE OF FISH BELLY UP.. MAYBE IT WAS THE HAM MAYBE IT WAS THERE TIME TO GO...OH WELL:headbang2
