My buddy has just purchased some established buisinesses in Cancun, Mexico and has offered me and my wife who speaks spanish a job. I have been to Cancun twice for springbreak in high school and loved it.

Chances are we will not take him up on the offer, but Im doing a little research and figured Id ask if anyone had any experience.

try to go down for a week or so and see if u like it...

**** if $ good i would go..

I never have but be sure to like the heat and keep in mind what is fun for one week might not be fun for weeks/years on end..

I have visited there. But would personally never live there out of fear of getting put in their jail for who know what some day...traffic violation, ETC. Big time gangs in there. THink you could survive them? Thats my way of thinking, Take care.

Police are politics are very corrupt there.

I had a friend start a business there and he eventually failed...

^^ that too.. And the abundance of MS-13..

Im in Kentucky now and I HATE the cold so sun doesnt bother me one bit!

I would be there for 1-2 years tops. Pay would be 40-45K with a house on beach and 52foot yacht. I figured as long as I stay in a resort town where people dpened on money from outsiders crime should not be too bad. Plus if you carry a $50bill on you, it should buy you out of any trouble!

Im researching schools as my wife is in nursing school and that is the only thing holding us back. If she can transfer any credits down there and then transfer back to the U.S. it would be allgood. Problem is, Im hitting a dead end while looking up that kind of stuff...

My ultiumate goal in life is to live some place warm and on the water so I do think I can tough it out a year or two!

Also Im kinda dark and my wife is hispanic so as long as we dont say much (her accent is different then theirs) we should fit right in!

Perhaps she can take courses online?

My friends business was actually in PV and based on tourism (it was a bar). Once they figure out you have money his experience was that will try to milk it all out from you....

Just my .02 Good Luck!!!

His buisnesses are an American fast food franchise. He currently owns 20+ in the U.S. and the ones he has bought are well established down there. I dont think the buisiness will be bad.

I looked into online classes but there are too many "hands on" things nurses have to do...

Another thing to add...

My wife (actually fiancee) is not yet a citizen of the U.S. rather a permenant resident. She cannot leave the U.S. for more then a year at a time. People get around that by staying out off the country awhile and then coming back for a few weeks then leaving again...

Like I said chances are I wont be able, but Im sitting in my cubicle with a shirt and tie and thinking...what if...
