Yes they are cute . They have had them for yrs in Long island pet stores.

More or less about 10 yrs ago they were very popular in all the pet stores even the chain pet stores had them.

They are very cute which made them so popular but again seems some just love them and some do not.

i quess thats the way it is with most people .. i just happen to love almost all of them... :D
 
used to own a pair that actually mated and had a baby!!! It was awesome. But a very unfortunate situation happened involving a cat.......

That's interesting. I didn't know that there are people out there that keep and breed them for the pet trade. We have both the Northern and Southern species here in PA.

i know we have them but they arnt very common in this area. they are here but.... :(
i still stand by my statement catch a bunch so i can transplant them into my back yard

Too many eh? What's your species count ... or maybe I should make a thread just for that :D. I always wonder how my mini-zoo compares to those of others.

after i tell you mine...you tell me yours..;)4 horses, one cat.. 2 parrots and 2 dogs.. and 20 + fishtanks.. 2 turtles... :)
 
Liz do you have an outdoor set up to keep your turtles in the warmer months?
