well, if it is used and you are hauling it yourself, then i am sure customs wont give a big deal.

but if it is crated and having a moving company move it, then they might be more suspicious and want more details and ask to inspect it even though it is used.

either way, it is possible, just the questions is are you willing to pay the extra to ship it to you. after shipping cost, it might be the same price if you get it locally unless the price you are getting it for is a bargain.

good luck though.

Thank you all for your replies, I will continue my research and post all info if it all pan's out. . . .

As you all can see the deals in Cali are second to none and with the Canadian dollar at par with the U.S, how can I pass up these great deals. . . .

I should make multiple purchases and sell the to all you guys on my trip back. . . LOL

i cannot see how shipping tanks from cali to toronto could possibly be financially sound. you can make your own acrylic monster 500 gallons tank for $1,400 - $1,800.

Jason,

Your research is done.

After custom fees, tax ( you must pay ours also on imports ) and shipping, it is not worth it. Even after you read this and don't believe me, have it shipped and held at a Fed Ex depot, then run accross and pick it up yourself. This saves me quite a bit when I have fish shipped from the U.S., as I brokerage fee's etc..

If it is something custom you want, call Miracles Aquariums in Toronto. They are highly regarded.
