Nice pics. I just went to the info session a couple hours ago. Basically, if I can get student loans to cover the trip (since it is technically for school), I'm going. Otherwise, I can't come close to affording it atm. The trip would be a week in Quito and surrounding areas (including cloud forests and maybe Cotopaxi), an 8 day cruise through the Galapagos Islands, and possibly for an extra fee (that I'm definitely going to pay if I can get a loan for it) a week in the Amazon (I mean if I'm spending $1000 to fly to SA with no plans of going back any time soon, it's worth it). If I can get the money together, I have little doubt this would be the best 3 weeks of my life so far.

Make it happen! :)

I went for a six-week study-abroad. The one thing I'm sorry I missed was the Galapagos - I couldn't afford the extra $$, so I went to Peru instead.

Thanks for the photo comments, I have a lot more, but no scanner!

Oh, I'm tryin. At this point, I have about $2500-3000 I can put toward the trip. The total I will need is between $5000 and $5500 (or maybe up to around $7000 if I include the Amazon, which I will if the plan works out). If I can get a loan to cover the rest, I'm going.

Well, it looks like I can get the loan, so I may very well get to go. I'm hoping to get the deposit in to secure my spot tomorrow morning.

The actual trip is in June. It's still not 100% certain I will be going, but it looks good.
