has anyone ever tryed a sun sun

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I bet flow is cut down quite a bit after all the media is in there. But sounds like they arent bad at all (although not everyone here likes marineland equipment), dont think they are ridiculously cheap but its definitely fair.

I got the tank, it actually works very well and i can't even hear it. My Cascade 1500 is all I hear. Tank is about little bit under 2/3 of my 1500. Love the clear tubing and all hose connections are secured tightly. Unit came pre-tested before it shipped, so it was a bit wet on the inside, and it already came pre-lubed. Set up was quick and priming was a no-brainer.

Gonna use it as my polish filter, currently just have 4 polish filters and 250ml of purigen.

P.S. Unit didn't come with UV, those come at 365 and run at $70. Might be getting that next paycheck. There is no such thing as over-filtration in my mind.

i read a review. praising the sun suns. but i wouldn't depend it for tanks bigger then 125 gallons.

It looks like an Odyssea CFS4 so I would assume they both are pretty much the same. I have two of CFS4 so here is my review.

Con:
1. You have to pick it up or lift it from the bottom of the canister
2. I think it uses more power than Rena xp3
3. Slightly more noisy than Rena xp3

Pro:
1. A lot cheaper than Rena xp3
2. More chambers
3. Each chamber holds more media
4. Better in kick starting the water flow. Push botton on top vs. adding water into the tubing like Rena.

Overall they last a long time and I am very pleased with them. I have had them for years without any problem and would recommend them over Rena.

thank you for posting this up here i havent got mine yet but i will im exited as all he ll
