Did you mean the smaller similar looking silver bass? Also known as sand bass or white bass? That is next on my list to try and figure out a way to add one to my coldwater species.
Actually I think you ment the one that can live in the ocean, nevermind. They arn't for me maybe another member can keep a 40+pounder just not the fish for me.

Are you sure that's a White bass (Striped Bass) Morone chrysops? I think think it might be a Yellow Bass Morone mississippiensis.

I also have to gripe about the title....
HAS ANYONE EVER..........

What Kind of topic title is that??? Why not just post "Hey look at me??" Or "I need attention?"

Chill man it's not that bad. It got you to look, didn't it?
(And no offense, but isn't it a little worse to post something in size 20 font where everything is in 2? Like a Pirarucu in a Tetra tank?)

BlacIce, that fish IS indeed a yellow or white bass, hard to tell with out looking at the tooth patches. They get only a fraction of the size of stripers maxing out at around 2 pounds.

I would keep a white bass or yellow bass. They look and act similiar but could be kept in a standard 180 for a long time. I currently have a white bass in my tank. I caught him wild and he is about 6". The first week or so he banged his chin up but now he doesnt rub the glass anymore and begs for food right along with the other fish. Im thinking about selling him soon if anyone is interested.

The fish you have pictured is a yellow bass. They stay small and look BEAUTIFUL in the aquarium. Yellow bass are a bit sensitive and not for the beginner but otherwise can make outstanding aquarium fish. Much better choice than the true striper.

The broken/shifted horizontal bars indicate that this is a yellow bass. White bass bars are not broken and usually fade in the aquarium to the point that they can almost no longer be seen.

Actually white bass do have broken bars. The only ones with solid bars are stripers. The hybrid bass get their broken bars from white bass.

Sorry, I disagree.

Edit: Actually maybe what I meant was unclear. The white bass has more or less solid horizontal lines down the length of the body. In spots these lines may appear slightly broken. However with the yellow bass the 3 or 4 horizontal lines nearest the anal fin have a definitive break and shift, then continue more or less unbroken towards the caudal fin. Here is a pic I pulled off of google that shows what I mean:

White bass on top, yellow bass on bottom:
