Has anyone gathered their own?

Wood seems pretty simple lots of good ponds in mass and tons of bad weather to collect from broken branches. How about plants anyone have any experience in that ? I'm looking for a more natural type feel instead of all the plastic junk

Plants are incredibly cheap, try swords/Java fern/anubuis if your not high light.
