Has anyone got a tank from ATA?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've bought about 4 tanks from them a 180g,100g, and two 60g. The two times I have showed up I have paid exactly what they advertised online (however the price online doesn't include glass tops, they usually run about $25 with hinge, and back splash guard), and if it makes you feel any better their tanks are Visio. Although I have seen some that are not (glass that is). In either case, the guys seemed honest, although the actual pet store, (its actually separate from where they keep their tanks) is a f*cken disaster!

I did notice that smaller thanks, like 100g and under, they keep in another storage that they have in the same strip mall, as far as the bigger tanks goes, you need to go pick them up from a different place about 15 minutes away. All in all it was cool, and way cheap.

Edit: I have had all these tanks for about 2 years, no problems, no issues, nothing.

Ah, so it seems if you're local and you want something pre-made (not huge custom) then you're pretty much safe and not going to get messed with.

Like I said... Id go to them if I needed some 180g tanks or so, maybe up to a 240g since they may have those already lying around.

DO NOT BUY FROM ATA!!! I can't be any clearer. If for some reason you need to buy from them, make sure you get everything in writing and have them explain to you exactly what you get. I told a friend about them and they wrote her a receipt saying "complete system with delivery and setup" Well, I guess a complete system just includes tank, stand and delivery. I thought the price for a complete system seemed to good to be true. No pump, water, sand, rocks, skimmer, chiller, lights, NOT EVEN A CANOPY!! I would never do business with ATA because they aren't trustworthy.

As mentioned, thats why you go straight to them and buy it yourself, and look at the tank, and even pick out the exact one you want before anything. I have had two good experiences with them, but I'm sure they have their share of mishaps. I plan on buying another 100g from them next week, I'll let everyone know how it went. :D

Tape, I went there to seek out a 100 gallons tank awhile back @ ATA and they said they did not have anything in stock except stands. They told me if I wanted a 100gallons I could leave a deposits and pickup is 1-3 weeks depending on how busy they get. I'm not leaving any money until I see what I will be getting. Then the guy went out for a smoke and sent a high school kid from his store to show me around his storage room full of stands. If you're local and you want cheap then it's worth a try. Keep in mind you will get poor service as expected for a bargain buy. If you know exactly what you want and is familiar with the product then you'll come out ahead.

If you want a glass tank with curve corner for a good price and excellent service then talk to jeboxfiddy. I bought a 116 gallon tank from him. He & his dad promised me exactly when the tank would be available. They even helped me loading it onto my truck. Smooth transaction.

If you want acrylic for great price and excellent service then go see Jim @ http://www.jimsexoticfish.com/ My friend bought a 60 gallon CLEAR FOR LIFE acrylic tank w/ light and stand for $350 BRAND NEW. There should be more mom and pop store like this. EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!! No upsell, no BS, and no hassles.

do research before you go there, the customer service is horrible
