I see. When our Mbu was small, we fed crayfish from the local fish store. Yes, expensive but if you put enough food into them, they will be big enough to tackle adult crays soon. I remember it being only a few months of that "stage" in his life. The more you feed him, the faster he will get to a size where he can deal with big food items, if that makes sense.
Yes when they're about $6 a piece for a small one hurts my pocket lol, I dropped about 4 in there around his size to see if he goes for it. The fiddler crabs he went for right away though
