Just curious. I will be picking up black aro, and want to know if 2 black aro will get alone. I know that 2 silver seem to fight, and Jar seem to be the most aggressive one.

I had own black before but only 1 per tank. This time I am getting 2 in 1 tank, so would like to know that is the aggression torward one another?:grinno:

that's why i ask first befor i pick them up...how aggressive is the black compare to the Jar? i thought the Jar are the most aggeressive.

black is the most passive. if your silvers are fighting. try moving to a bigger tank or add a few other fish to distract the aggression. parrots seem to do well with arrowanas. but you need like 5 arrowanas , if you want to keep more then 1 together. this way they wont be picking on the same fish all the time. i have kept giant gourami and parrots with jardinis with no problem. if you try to keep 2 jardini together you can forget about it. the more tank space the less aggressive. toss them in your 180 gallon.

what is good price for balck about 12" in LFS???? around New England area?

not so true... aro aggresion tends to rank most to least:

1st jar 2nd green 3rd BLACK!

two aro's will VERY rarely work.... 3 min tho normally 4 is minimum for one not to eventually fall from stress, then u have three and it gets worse, so yes is a good safe number of aro for a com, but 4 equal size aro in a large tank should work.... if size is all comparable have a go with 2 silver and 2 black.... jar may be ok while small... try is the only way to see....

I don't know where you get this info but all the silvers I have had have been WAY more aggressive than my black aro. I think you rating system is somewhat flawed. That said you won't know until you try. Aro aggression is really up to the aro. You might get 2 passive aro's and be fine or you might not

I've seen it done, but I would never do it. Like everyone else said, 5 minimum. Then you'll need a huge tank of 500+ gallons though.;

my previous blk done, 2 silvers one at 10" when it was 8" and one at 13" when it was 10"... my current blk cant be tanked with other aro's... or i cant fit enough aros in there to stop him beating **** outa them all... he's mashed 3 7" jar at the same time at 10"... every fish comes down to personality but those are my experiences with blacks...
