Has Anyone on MFK been successful in breeding channa bleheri. I'm tired of reading this articles on breeding bleheri because no time limits are given for the simulation of winter and other important details that are preventing me from successfully breeding these buggers! So please only if you have done it before explain the process...thanks

I haven't done it myself. but will be trying it with Sp. Assam. From all that I have read. You need to winter them for a desent amount of time probably 2 to 3 months. The temp needs to be lowered to near 15C or a little lower. Feeding should be reduced aswell, some people also lower the water depth during this period10-15cm. The temp should be gradually increased after this time to 25C, The depth doesn't need quit so a gradual increase.

Hope I have helped:) Good Luck...

Matty another MFK member has breed Sp. Assam which do require a very similer process to breed.

Hi yes what Jelly said basically. I didn't lower the water level, but gave them 3 months at room temp (this dropped below 55F on many nights), then increased the temp to 80+F and fed them lots of nice food :) I strongly suspect that keeping them in a densely planted set-up also helps. Good luck!
