Not sure by lookin on the pix but i think its a rope fish. Does it look like a bichir from the head?

heres a description of it. it almost all ways under the sand its tame eats from hand about 12ins long and geting bigger, green, big mouth, nocturnal, thats all i can think of

Its definitely an eel - quite obvious from the pics ..

Right species wise I have no idea - where are you, where was it collected ?

Its definitely an Anguilla species and pretty much they have the same requirements (other than temperature).

I have kept a few A. anguilla in the past (caught in the UK) and currently have a 2ft long Anguilla marmorata -

As you'll know they eat meaty foods, so a diet of cut whitefish, prawn, earthworms etc is required. As for temp they are very adaptable and I have kept cold water species in tropical temps in the past with no ill effect.

Growth is reasonably slow in most eel species.

The main thing to consider is that they are great escape artists, make sure that you have a good lid on the aquairum.

In my experience, whilst they are predatory they are not aggressive.
