Deadeye is exactly right. A male Metynnis altidorsalis showing off. It will not look like that or be so cocky all the time, but it may color up at times even more.

These were rescued from an LFS where they were donated. I'm not sure what the original owner had then with as their fins were all nipped up. All are healed up and pigs.

Nice! I have a small group of red hooks as well, I’m really starting to like SDs, I originally got them to help my acestros relax lol
Some days it is the M. maculatus who color up. For all of them, the colors change with the day and the moment. It is hard to capture that in pictures. This fish is one of my 3 maculatus who are ~22 years of age.
