Well, today i came home from work, excited to see my lady and marvel at my beautiful tank. I sat back and patiently watched my little creatures eat their pellets and food sticks. After gazing at my little underwater world for some time, i noticed that I had not seen my Spotted Shovelnose Catfish today.?. So i took some time and looked in every crevice, behind every piece of driftwood, and in every plant but to no avail... Upon further inspection I noticed that my 20"+ Freshwater Moray Eel had quite a lump to him? I had a sneaking suspicion that my Moray had quite possibly ingested my $50+, apparently now, feeder Shovelnose Cat :WHOA:.
Any comments??? :naughty:

wow thats crazy! I am sorry for your loss ... man that was one expensive feeder!

Well this would have never happened if you kept the moray eel in a proper brackish tank where it belongs.

Wow calm down no need to act like a child, I was simply stating he's keeping fish in the wrong enviroment.

that sucks!!! my friend was housing a chain pickerel for me in a tank with a 1.5 foot long rtc...... pickerel got eaten lol

If the eel is 20+ inches and apparently eatting well i think he's doing ok in his current environment lol.

Sorry for the loss bro :(

ouch....but $50+ for a shovelnose? that's extremely steep considering they cost the store like $5-8 to get in (around here)

-SINATRA, thank you for informing me of something i know nothing about... considering my specific gravity stays around 1.010 i think i am doing just fine with the whole "keeping it where it belongs" issue. ALL of my fish are thriving, and considering the Eel is doing so well that I thought it ate my 7" Shovelnose, sounds like I'm doing something right. Found out later that my Cat did not get eaten, he was just hiding very well in my tank (strange considering i dont know what im doing and have NO hiding places, live plants, or proper equipment for my tank) Thanks everyone else for the comments. So in conclusion, you can calmly and kindly take your foot out of your mouth sir, Save it for the people that NEED the help.... :)
