Has anyone seen this?

It says that Nitrates will build up but stay withing a reaonable level. So whats keeping them from rising further?

No Plants or no water changes, means impending Nitrate buildup, no matter how much biological media and benifical bacteria exists. What is making this Nitrate eating bacteria grow?

Even if there was a way to get rid of the nitrogen, you're still adding mass as food...you can't just expect those atoms to somehow dissapear after your fish eat them...

They are using resin beads to remove the nitrates. The resin beads have to be replaced weekly or EOW (which ever it said). In other words, you are trading water changes for being hooked on their product. If you have to break out the gravel vac and bucket anyway, I don't see the benifit of parting with hard earned cash for some funky resin beads.

They claim that there is a third "mystery bacteria" that supposedly you can only buy from them, but they go on to say this:

Additional chemical filtration is provided by the media inside the Clean Magic packs, and are replaced every other week. Nitrates are also removed by the natural actions of live plants, which are encouraged to grow by the gravel bed of the under gravel filter.

(at first they play down the use of live plants, but apparently the system still needs them to work.)

It looks like a glorified undergravel filter paired with a simple HOB.

Who would pay for that junk?
