Fakebook has been down most of the day due to server issues or whatever.Instagram has been having troubles too....could this be the handiwork of some hacker?

I know I've been trying to log on for the past 2 hours. Pissing me off now LOL

I don't think it's been hacked, but they have been having major issues all day. You can go here and scroll down and read the comments and see all the issues people are having https://downdetector.com/status/facebook

Funny thing is it's different problems for different areas. For some people they can't log in, others can log in and see things but thats it. For me I have been able to log in and I can message people and like posts, but I can't reply to anything or start a post. Seems there's different issues for different people/areas.

A friend of mine was all huffed up because Instagram would not accept her password earlier LOL!

People lose their minds when social media goes down. It sucks a little for me just because I get a lot of orders through FB for my business page, but it's not the end of the world, it'll be back. Some people act like they can't exist without it. I bet my Niece is flipping out today lol

FB data centers store different types data in a number of data centers around the US. It isn’t as geographical or chronological as one might think. For example, when the new friendship anniversaries, year in review etc... videos roll out we used to send countless servers out in preparation for the massive increase in traffic. It’s no small operation. Memories for example are not even close to the same physical servers/or even state as current posts are. In no way is FB, Instagram or even Oculus structured to go down easily or be hacked.

It can’t be a small problem.

If my experience is any indication, it's not structured to go down easily or be hacked.

But when Bob does a code release and forgets a comma it's all going down in flames and no one will have any clue where it's broken. :)

Or maybe that's just my work?
