just listenin to the news and cant belive the reports that man city have offered £108 million for kaka:WHOA:
they are also gonna pay him in the region of £600,000 per week:screwy:

just glad to see footballers arnt feelin the credit crunch!
think i'm gonna go back to bed and dream of the fish i could buy if i was on that sort of money

you know what the sad thing is about this credit crunch? the people who really need the money, single mothers, working families etc, are fearing for their minimum wage jobs and football clubs are still able to pay this sort of money for 1 guy just so he can run around a pitch kicking some pvc/leather ball.
doctors are one 60k a year (nurses on about 20k a year) and a footballer is on 60k a WEEK. hardly the right way around those figures. i hate football if you cant tell.

so he will earn more than a doctors yearly wage every DAY

check out Yankees baseball...:ROFL::eek::(

i just did at the current exange rate they are offering kaka

50.85 million U.S. dollars per year

that is quite a bit more than rodriguez

Don't get me started on footballers and their wages. I find it sickening they get treated and paid the way they do and often referred to as 'heros' (not seen that to much recently tho) when there's guys i know out in hot sandy places dodging bullets for this country and earning less in their entire careers than some of these guys get in a week. I could rant on this for hours so will stop now!

Footballers are paid too much, HOWEVER... what some of them are paid is proportional to what the clubs rake in through merchandise for that player. Beckham's transfer fee to LA Galaxy was made back by the club within 4 months of his arrival and his wages more than pay for themselves again through merchandising so why shouldnt they get some of that cash?

That said, to be paid that kind of cash to kick a ball is a joke and the transfer fee is crazy. In the current climate it is just distancing the common man from the game we love.

Plus Kaka wont solve city's oh so leaky defence......

:iagree:

IMO the lads fighting in our name and for our country (whether you agree with the war or not) deserve the title heroes and deserve the accolades and praise way more than the sports stars ever will.

Thanks mate. I'm close to a medical discharge now cause i got injured out of area. But you see these guys on tv getting paid a fortune and it makes me sick. They'll never have to do some of things i have.

Football is doing a good job of alienating everyone else already in my opinion. i went to see a couple of games when i was a lad, but there's no way i'd pay the ticket prices asked now to watch one. It's those really high ticket prices that are paying these over acting idiots Thousands a day. I don't think i could ever get tired of hitting Christiano Ronaldo.
