hasslett dies after 12 hours

I wouldn't be so quick to put the sharks not making it on the seller. To be honest I don't think it was the sellers fault.

From your pics the hasselti does not look emaciated but is alert- it is postured on its pectoral fins and head held up. That is a good sign!

How long did you drip the shark for. Did you have enough flow in the tank blowing that container to keep the oxygen levels up. Some sharks are more sensitive to nitrogen levels, low O2 or high salinity then banded bamboo sharks. You don't need to answer but those are some factors I would take into account. Just saying... no offense :)

chris no offence taken
the drip was a slow 1.5 hour two times turn over in water
same way ive always driped cat sharks. water flow was a 1050
hydro koralia flowing down over the top of the container
the brine shrimp were flowing around nicely in there.
the only reason the shark was in the container was a fear
max would hurt it. Max is seen in the pic and would not stay
far away form the baby. salinity is 1.025 all other level are
normal. nitrogen levels & low O2 have never been tested
but there are 5 1050 power heads in the tank plus the
protein skimmer airing up the water.
the haslett was swimming when i went to bed at 9:30pm
and at 3am when i left for work. then dead by 5am ish
when my wife got up to let the dogs out..
I dont blame anybody for the sharks death just bummed out
by it

Go S. Vettel #1 rb8

its ok just gotta go through turbo lol

That species is just a pain. I've tried several times and just stopped from lack of success. Even the ones we'd get eating wouldn't last longer than a couple of months. Props to Josh for keeping one going!!

That size is about the size you tend to find them from the wholesalers. Young sharks are harder to deal with, mix in the added difficulty of this species, and you'll feel like you're fighting an uphill battle the whole time.
