i keep mine in oats with the occasional potato,apple,or carrot.
theyve lasted me over 6 months now,never bought new ones.
occasionally i see pupae eaten,but i still get lots of beetles.

i just dump mine in the fish tank cabinet and they take care of themselves.
 
I took him to college today as a living necklace and reactions were mixed, but interest was high. Somebody should market these things.
One source tells me 18-24 days before it's a beetle.

man this entire time I thought the op name was knifegirl,,,so I was picturing a meal worm cleavage thing going on and it left me so odd feeling inside,,,,,now I hear its a dude. What am I worried about my snakes for with the ladies if this guys got a pet maggot on his chest.
